Sonoma Coast

Sonoma Coast

The body and soul needed some time at the coast. We headed out towards the coast along the Russian River on River road, it’s hard not to notice how low the water level is for this time of year. The effects of our lack of rain this year is taking its toll on the countryside. We are experiencing the lowest rain totals in many years.

We stopped at lands end in Jenner and watched the huge breakers crashing on the beach. There must have been hundreds of sea lions cavorting in the water and on the sand. It wasn’t long before it started to rain, much needed rain, so we headed up the coast for a leisure Sunday drive to unwind and welcome the introspective effects of the coast.

We stopped in the quaint coastal town of Bodega bay, known for the setting for Alfred Hitchcock’s famous movie The Birds. We stopped at The Tides fish monger to pickup some fresh shell fish for the evenings meal.

They also had a great deal on some Ahi, which was transformed in an awesome salad last night.
The whole reason for starting this post was about two new recipes I’d like to share.LOL
